An Update regarding Additional Options and Inner Ability

Dear Maplers,

Many of you may have caught wind of the recent announcements made by KMS related to Additional Options and Inner Ability rates.

We have checked our base code and confirmed that the same issue is also prevalent in MapleStorySEA. We are deeply regretful for the occurrence of this phenomenon, and would like to take the necessary steps to remedy it.

The base logic for Additional Options will be fixed during our regular weekly maintenance on March 3rd, 2021. After the maintenance, all options 'Type' will have an equal probability, while the weight-based probability of 'Rank' will be maintained as is.

In the case of Inner Ability, we confirmed that there is no issue when resetting the 'Rank', but we are facing the same problem as KMS when the options are being reset, therefore this portion of the coding will be fixed as well during the maintenance on 3rd March.

Due to the complex nature of the situation, we would like to take some time to carefully determine the appropriate compensations in recognition of the inconvenience and/or changes caused by the modifications that will take place.

To prevent such incidents from happening again in the future, we will be implementing an internal monitoring system that will be able to check the actual application status as well as the overall logic of the probability framework in the game.

Once again, we would like to sincerely apologize for the issues pertaining to Additional Options and Inner Ability. We are thankful and grateful for your strong support towards MapleStorySEA and we will continue to strive to provide a better service, so as not to let you down.
