The Potential System is a brand new system that would increase the power of items for Maplers!

Item Ranks

When items drop, they will now have ranks. Unlike the past, where an item would always be the same, now Maplers can find items with Hidden Potential, and identify them to see the item’s rank as well as Potential attributes.

Items come in 4 ranks Normal, Rare, Epic, Unique. They are listed in order of rarity, from the least rare to the most. The higher the rank of an item, the more rare and valuable it is! Ranks are stated under the item’s name as well as shown via the color border of the item.

An item will have a minimum of 1 to a maximum of 3 Potential attributes, based on the rank of the item. The chances of getting better Potential attributes raises with the rank of the item.

Magnifying Glass

When items with Potential is acquired, it will first need to be identified with a Magnifying Glass. Maplers may purchase the Magnifying Glass from the Department Store NPC in each city. Maplers should be aware that there are different Magnifying Glass for different levels of items!



How to use the Magnifying Glass

Double-click on the Magnifying Glass and click on the item you wish to identify to see what Potential the item has!

Potential Scrolls

Using these scrolls, Maplers can change a normal item into a potential item without using up a precious upgrade count! Upon successful application of the scroll, players will have to use the magnifying glass to identify the potential of the item as per usual.

Miracle Cube

Unhappy with the Potential attributes received? Change the Potential attributes with a Miracle Cube! Miracle Cubes can be purchased from the Cash Shop, and it will change the Potential Attributes of an item at random.



Upon using a Miracle Cube, it will revert the item back to unidentified status, and the item will need to be re-indentified. But that is not the only effect of using a Miracle Cube! When a Miracle Cube is used, it will leave behind a Miracle Cube Fragment. Do not throw these away, as they can be collected to make Potential Scrolls by double-clicking them!

It works the same way as a regular Miracle Cube but with added features and advantages!
