Suspension of System Event - Mr Lee Airlines
Dear Maplers,
There has been a significant amount of mixed sentiments in the community from our players’ feedback with regards to one of the upcoming system events, named ‘Mr Lee Airlines’.
We would like to begin by clarifying all doubts that any regarding information displayed in the events to be fictitious. Any resemblance to real events or persons, living or dead, is purely coincidental.
The system event content, Mr Lee Airlines, was originally developed by Nexon, and later adopted by Global MapleStory (GMS) in one of their recent patches. When the Maple Team and game developers decided to adopt the same content for MapleStorySEA service, it was done purely for the sake of having new contents in-game.
Regrettably, a number of tragedies involving flights happened recently in real life around us. While we sympathize with the victims and their family members/relatives, when Maple Team and developers decided to place the system event content into the patch, it was done without any intentions to make a parody of the unfortunate events that happened to the involved flights. However, we also did not foresee that the event would be met with strong reactions from the community.
As such, the Maple Team and developers have agreed to temporarily suspend the event until further notice, during this coming server check. As our teams deem it unnecessary to remove the content, certain restrictive measures will be placed in game.
What does this mean for you? Basically, after the upcoming server check on 21st January 2015, players will still be able to see the quest ‘[Mr. Lee Airlines] Maldoves Vacation Package’. However the quest will no longer allow players to progress on with the event content.
When accepted, it will return with a ‘Currently Not Available’ notification in the chatbox.
As to when the system event will return, there is currently no set timeframes that we are looking at. We will try our best to release it in the future, when the situation is more favourable.
With this, we hope our players would have a better understanding of the planned system events set into our patches.
We would also like to apologize to our players whom we have unintentionally triggered any strong feelings and reactions with regards to the coincidence of the system event.
