Root Abyss Patch Notes II
Dear Maplers,
Ever wished that boss monsters from the Maple World could fight alongside you?
Well, now they can!
Introducing, the Soul Weapon system!
As of the day the Root Abyss was discovered, boss monsters will be dropping their soul pieces. These pieces can be collected and then combined together into a monster soul.
However, not all boss monsters are willing to share their soul pieces with Maplers. So keep an eye out when you’re out hunting them alone or with your friends!
Monster souls of the Queen… and King
Collect 10 of the soul pieces to combine them into a monster soul! A random monster soul will be obtained, with different stat bonuses provided for the player. The monster soul will only be available for a limited duration.
Different prefixes obtained will give different stat bonuses!
Once you have gotten the monster soul of your choice, you are almost ready to infuse it into your weapon!
Soul Weapon Infusion
Infusing the monster soul into your weapon is pretty easy. However you will need certain items beforehand in order to be able to fuse the monster soul into your weapon.
You will need the following items before you can begin your soul weapon infusion:
Soul Enchanter
Soul enchanters can be found from bosses, and the different types of enchanters available will determine the success rate of the soul weapon enchantment. Hunt higher level bosses for a chance at obtaining stronger soul enchanters!
Once you have a soul enchanter along with your monster soul, you are now ready to infuse your weapon!
To soul enchant your weapon, simply drag your enchanter onto your weapon, like how you would normally use a scroll. You will be notified on whether the enchanting was successful or not in your chatbox.
Once enchanting has succeeded, it is time to fuse the monster soul into your weapon!
To infuse the desired monster soul into your weapon, drag your monster soul onto your weapon, again like how you would normally use a scroll.
A prompt will appear to confirm your decision, select “OK” and voila! Your weapon now is infused!
Note: If you wish to change the monster soul infused in your weapon, please clear the current soul infusion by speaking to NPC Unidentified Wizard and select the option “I would like to get the Soul Weapon back as it was”
The weapon now will have an additional prefix as according to the monster soul that you added. In this case, we infused our Fafnir Penitencia with a Powerful Von Leon’s soul. The weapon now will be called Powerful Von Leon’s Fafnir Penitencia.
The weapon will also grant two types of additional bonuses. The first bonus is obtained by filling up your Soul Weapon gauge by slaying monsters from all around Maple World. As the gauge increases, so will the bonus stats values as well. However, take note that upon releasing the Monster Soul Ability, the bonus stats will be reset as well.
The second bonus is the bonus given by the monster soul, depending on the prefix of the item as mentioned earlier.
The final option is the skill attack/buff granted by the infused monster soul.
Monster Soul Abilities
Upon infusing the monster soul into your weapon, a soul weapon gauge will appear as well as giving your character an added effect.
Kill monsters in the Maple World to increase the soul gauge! Any monster slain by your weapon will add a soul count into your soul gauge. So try not to miss any of the monsters, make each soul count!
Upon filling your soul gauge to the maximum, your character effect, as well as the soul gauge will change (effect depends on the monster soul you have infused):
Activate the Monster Soul Ability by pushing the buttons as stated:
Different monster souls will activate different forms of skills. Some skills will attack monsters, while others may provide a short term duration buff for the player.
So explore Maple World, and start your Monster Soul collection today!
