How to Start: Accept starting quest [Event] Retro World Is Now Open! from the Star Notifier on the left side of the screen.

You can access Retro World from the Star Notifier on the left of your screen from most places.

The Retro Gauge will be used to keep track of Retro Points gained, which will be converted into Retro Coins.

Every 100 Retro Points is 1 Retro Coin.

You can obtain up to 20,000 Retro Points per day.

Mercenary Multi-Jump Training

How to Start: Accept starting quest [Retro World] Mercenary Multi-jump Training from NPC Gunnulf inside the Retro World.


People of Valiruna noticed an unusual building suddenly appearing close to them recently and rumors have spread.. Gunnulf, the Veteran Mercenary is willing to offer you with the training all adventurers needed to climb the mysterious tower.

Pst... There will also be incentives for fellow adventurers who persist through this intense jumping training daily.

You can participate in the Mercenary Multi-jump Training quest 3 times a day regardless of points obtained.

To participate, simply accept the quest [Retro World] Enter Mercenary Multi-jump Training via NPC Gunnulf.

All Retro Points will be awarded based on the number of coins collected while performing the Mercenary Multi-jump Training.

• Silver Retro Coin: 50 Retro Points
• Gold Retro Coin: 100 Retro Points

Upon obtaining a total of 20,000 points while undergoing the Mercenary Multi-jump Training, you will be granted the title Retro World Champion Jumper.

Please note that the points will only start recording once the quest [Retro World] Retro World Jump Champ is accepted via NPC Gunnulf.

Fireball Evasion Training

Can't touch this.

How to Start: Accept starting quest [Retro World] Fireball Evasion Training from NPC Photios inside the Retro World.

With the rumor spreading around Retro World, a high magician by the name of Photios is willing to offer anyone with the training the need to be able to masterfully avoid any projectiles coming their way with ease.


Please bring along some aloe vera jelly incase you need them. You may get roasted to bits in the process… unfortunately. With every great achievement, comes great honorary title.

You can participate in the Fireball Evasion Training quest 2 times a day regardless of points obtained.

To participate, simply accept the quest [Retro World] Enter Fireball Evasion Training Center via NPC Photios.

All Retro Points will be awarded based on the number of coins collected while performing the Fireball Evasion Training.

• Silver Retro Coin: 50 Retro Points
• Gold Retro Coin: 100 Retro Points

Upon obtaining a total of 20,000 points while undergoing the Fireball Evasion Training, you will be granted the title Retro World Champion Dodger.

Please note that the points will only start recording once the quest [Retro World] Retro World Evasion Champ is accepted via NPC Photios.

Demon King's Tower

Not for the feeble hearted.

Requirement: Level 61+, Zero characters completing Chapter 2 for Story Quest; Accepted the quest [Event] Retro World Is Now Open!; Completed the quests [Retro World] Retro World Jump Champ and [Retro World] Retro World Evasion Champ.
How to Start: Accept starting quest [Retro World] Demon King Subjugation from NPC Emeric inside the Retro World.

With training certification from Gunnulf and Photios, the village chief, Emeric, is now confident enough to let you venture into the mysterious building which appeared so suddenly in Valiruna.

Day and night, Emeric dearly wishes that Valiruna would return to be a peaceful place… Will you be the one to stop the Demon King and save the 8-bit village?!

Staring blankly into the building all the way to the top.. How many floors does it have? Who needs this many floors?! Did I just hear someone screaming...? OMG

Each floor may or may not have hostiles that are fatal if you are hit by them.

Beware of traps and pitfalls! They are proven to be fatal.

There are checkpoints hidden on every 5 floors progressed.

Note that there is a 15 minutes time limit between each checkpoint floor.

Upon defeating the Demon King, the Demon King's Tower cannot be attempted again. ...c'mon, let him rest in peace, you got your kill!

How to Start: Accept starting quest [Retro World] Help Me Promote My Game! from the Star Notifier on the left side of the screen.

Game Master Jun needs your help in promoting the game! Help him out and you will be rewarded handsomely.

Monsters within your level range will drop the Retro World Promotion Coupon.

Obtaining the coupon will give you 5 Retro Coins and 1 random Maple equipment.

Please note that you will not be able to obtain the random Maple equipment if your inventory is full.

This is repeatable until you have obtained 40 coupons.

If you have already obtained 200 coins from Promote the Game!, you can still obtain a random Maple equipment but will not be able to obtain any points.

How to Start: Accept the quest [Retro World] The Chief's Special Potions from the Star Notifier on the left side of the screen.

One of Emeric’s favourite hobbies is to make special potions in which they are able to provide you with a boost of experience upon drinking them! But.. would I drink them though.. the potions look odd in colour. Especially the purple one... Wait! Would it taste like an All Cure Potion?

Here's a list of potions for sale and their effect:

• Retro World Purple Potion
  Cost: 50 Retro Coins
  Usable Level Range: 100 - 199
  Purchase Restriction: 1
• Retro World Orange Potion
  Cost: 30 Retro Coins
  Usable Level Range: 100 - 179
  Purchase Restriction: 2
• Retro World Orange Potion
  Cost: 10 Retro Coins
  Usable Level Range: 100 - 159
  Purchase Restriction: 3

Due to the potions effectiveness, it will only last for 24 hours after purchase.

The purchase limit is by per MapleID, regardless of World.

The potions purchase limit resets at every Wednesday, 0000 Hours (+8 GMT).

Exterminate Buggy Monsters

How to Start: Accept starting quest [Retro World] Exterminate the Buggy Monsters! from the Star Notifier on the left side of the screen.

The 8-bit creatures are running rampantly around Maple World! Help Game Master Jun lock these 8-bit creatures back into Valiruna! Wait what did they just drop? COOOOOINS!!!

Game Master Jun will provide adventurers with a quest daily to exterminate 40 8-bit monsters. Bounty awaits for those who assist him!

Elite Additional Monsters will spawn within the event period and they will appear as 8-bit monsters from the Retro World, Valiruna, in the form of Mimick, Flame Ghost and Goblin Archer. (Updated 14/8/19, 1035hrs)

Hunting Level Range Monsters will have a chance to spawn the above-mentioned monsters. (Updated 14/8/19, 1035hrs)

You will be rewarded with a Retro World Coin Chest upon completion of the quest.

The Retro World Coin Chest will give 30 Retro Coins when used, which is not inclusive in the daily 200 Retro Coin limit.

Note that the quest can be completed once a day.

Retro Link

Insert coin for treasure monsters!

How to Start: Accept starting quest [Retro World] Retro Link is now open! from the Star Notifier on the left side of the screen.

Want to get stronger? Fight some monsters and you'll be stronger! But what's the catch? Insert coin here~

With Retro Link, you can fight monsters at a higher EXP ratio compared to conventional hunting fields! Simply by spending Retro Coins, you can summon a number of monsters and fight them to toughen up!

Feature and restrictions of Retro Link hunting maps:

Minimum entry level is 100, and you can enter either solo or in a party.

Only the party leader can request to enter Retro Link.

If you are entering as a party, ensure that all party members are in the same map prior to entering, or you will not be able to enter Retro Link.

Do note that the party will be disbanded upon entering Retro Link.

Up to 10 characters can enter the same map, where their buffs are shared even without being in a party.

You will obtain a 120% EXP bonus for hunting monsters inside Retro Link.

Note that there is a maximum monster limit that can be summoned according to your character's level range.

• Level 100 - 119: 500 monsters
• Level 120 - 139: 1,000 monsters
• Level 140 - 159: 1,500 monsters
• Level 160 - 179: 2,000 monsters
• Level 180 - 199: 2,500 monsters
• Level 200+: 3,000 monsters

You can use 5 Retro Coins to summon 500 monsters each time.

You can summon monsters until the available monster count reaches 0.

You can change the monster level to be summoned by talking to the NPC at any time.

Goddess's Cry

How to Start: Accept starting quest [Retro World] Goddess's Cry from the Star Notifier on the left side of the screen.

Blessed by the 8-bit Goddess Abalithia, adventurers will be able to call upon the Goddess to help you in your daily monster hunting routine and accuse her of Kill Stealing. Uh.. did my Retro Points just jump miles ahead just by using that skill?

Goddess’s Cry Benefits:

50% Bonus EXP for each monster defeated by the skill

15 Retro Points per monster defeated by the skill (Capped at 150 Retro Points per skill usage)

300 Retro Points for using the skill

Additional information:

The skill “Goddess’s Cry” will be available in the Beginner’s Skill tab after accepting the quest.

The skill will only have bonus effects on level ranged monsters.

The skill has to be toggled ON before it is able to collect Goddess’s Energy.

Right click on the skill to toggle it ON / OFF.

The skill toggle can only be activated in hunting maps that has level ranged monsters.

Goddess’s Energy will only be collected if you kill the monsters within your level range.

Based on the amount of Goddess’s Energy collected, the effect that appears on the character’s head with the skill toggled active will change color (5 stages of charge).

How to Start: Accept starting quest [Event] I’m the Burger Captain! from the Star Notifier on the left side of the screen or talk to NPC Part-timer Kemdi.

The delicious smell of Burger has got me wondering where it’s coming from... Hmm, walking up close to a Pink-ish truck that appeared in most major towns recently and caught the craze of people. You noticed a familiar face! Hmm.. who is it? WAIT, KEMDI YOU CAN MAKE BURGERS TOO?! GIVE ME ONE!!

Kemdi responded with a blank face, “No work, no food, yo!”. Sigh.. what a terrible way to get someone to work for you TwT.


Types of Burger:

Classic Burger

• +EXP
• +80 Random Trait EXP

Deluxe Burger

• 2x EXP Coupon Buff (30 mins.)
• +800 Selectable Trait EXP
• Can only be obtained as the 10th completed burger.

Big Tower Burger

• +EXP (2x of Classic Burger's EXP)
• +80 Random Trait EXP
• Can only be prepared on Sundays.

More Information:

The following items will start to drop from level range monsters upon accepting the quest [Event] Burger Ingredients.

[Updated to clarify event details as of 13 September, 1410hrs.]

Points obtainable are limited to 1,000 for each day the event progresses, e.g. 1,000 points for day 1, 2,000 points for day 2 and so on, up to 14,000 points for day 14.

Points obtained are cumulative throughout the event period and are shared between all characters in the same World.

Players who completed the quest [Event] Burger Ingredients will be given 100 points per quest completed and can only be done 10 times per character on a daily basis.

Please note that you can accumulate points up to the current event day's limit, e.g. 3,000 points on day 3 of the event. Any quest completion will not earn you points for the rest of the day once you hit the current day's limit.

You need to consume the burger consumable item before you can complete the quest and obtain another burger consumable item.

The rewards for cumulative points obtained can be accessed via the quest [Event] Burger Captain’s Burger Truck located in the Star Notifier or via NPC Part-timer Kemdi.

Rewards obtained are based on cumulative point earned and can only be claimed ONCE per World.

Detective Pepe

How to Start: Accept starting quest [Detective Pepe] Detective Pepe’s Detective Agency from the Star Notifier on the left side of the screen or talk to NPC Detective Pepe.


Ever wondered what detective work in MapleStory is like? Detective Pepe has a bunch of stories to share with the world. Wait… this isn’t your usual detective story!

New episodes will be released and playable at 1000hrs (+8 GMT) as the day progresses through event period.

Players will be able to catch up to the latest episode to date regardless of episode release on specific dates.

• Episode 1 will be released on the 11th of September, 1000hrs (+8 GMT)
• Episode 2 will be released on the 12th of September, 1000hrs (+8 GMT)
• Episode 3 will be released on the 13th of September, 1000hrs (+8 GMT)
• And so on..

200 Detective Agency Admission Ticket will be required to proceed with the current on-going episode.

Detective Agency Admission Tickets are obtainable from killing monsters of level range and will update according to your current episode in progress.

Episode completion and reward collection are character specific.
